As a progressive and independent Democratic organization in Richmond County, the Staten Island Democratic Association (S.I.D.A.) is committed to upholding the principles of democracy, justice, and inclusivity. Our mission is to serve as a strong and independent voice for liberal Democratic values, fostering civic engagement and advocating for a more equitable society.

We aim to:

Champion Democratic Values: Promote and advance the key tenets of the Democratic Party across local, state, and national platforms, advocating for policies that benefit all members of our community.

Amplify Community Voices: Foster the active participation of Democrats at all levels of the political process, ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard and represented.

Support Integrity in Leadership: Identify, endorse, and support candidates for public office who demonstrate both integrity and a genuine commitment to serving the public good.

Promote Merit-based Governance: Advocate for the appointment of qualified public officials and employees based on merit, rather than political affiliation or connections, to ensure fair and effective governance.

Empower Civic Engagement: Inspire all citizens of Staten Island to meaningfully engage in the civic and political life of our community, building stronger bonds and promoting active involvement.
